I know that if I had read a book like this when I was younger, I wouldn't have been so confused for so long. Regardless, I think this book should be used in every sex-ed class. There are also some statements and jokes that fall a little flat, as they ignore some queer identities. I would love to see an updated version of this book. Almost most notably, the author came out as a trans woman. The edition I read came out in 2015, and though it's only been 5 years, many things have changed in those years. That being said, the book already feels a little dated.
There is a lot of good information in there that can be beneficial to recently out/curious queer people and allies. But most importantly, you will know that however you identify (or don't) and whomever you love, you are exceptional. This candid, funny, and uncensored exploration of sexuality and what it's like to grow up LGBTQ also includes real stories from people across the gender and sexual spectrums, not to mention hilarious illustrations. Inside you'll find the answers to all the questions you ever wanted to ask, with topics like: There's a long-running joke that, after "coming out," a lesbian, gay guy, bisexual, or trans person should receive a membership card and instruction manual.
This book is for anyone who's ever dared to wonder. This book is for everyone, regardless of gender or sexual preference.
